Project HipSlingers in the Wild

Siren Society 10th Anniversary
September 11–13, 2026
📍Warsaw, Poland

September took Project HipSlingers international!

We traveled to Warsaw, Poland to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Siren Society—three incredible days of workshops, dancing, connection, and performances alongside dancers from around the world.

Dance was at the heart of the weekend. We had the opportunity to work with Siren Society through their performance intensive, learning together before taking the stage as part of the anniversary celebration. We also spent time studying with Devi Mamak and took workshops with Super Beth—packing an incredible amount of learning, inspiration, and dancing into just a few days.

Between classes and performances, we explored Warsaw, ate our way through plenty of Polish food, visited the church where Chopin's heart rests, and made memories with dancers and friends both old and new.

From packed suitcases to intensive rehearsals, workshops, and the stage in Warsaw, this was an adventure we'll never forget.

Valleyfest

September 26, 2026
📍Mirabeau Point Park • Spokane Valley, WA

Sometimes the best adventures happen when plans change!

For Valleyfest 2026, Project HipSlingers' Chelsea was joined by Shaina of Tribe Zenith for an entirely improvised duet on the Family Stage. With very little opportunity to dance together beforehand, we leaned into the improvisational heart of FCBD® Style and Tamarind Tribal—listening, responding, and seeing where the dance took us.

The smaller format also gave us room to experiment with things we don't often get to explore in a larger group, including incorporating fan and basket props into our improvisation.

After a September filled with dancing near and far, Valleyfest brought us back home to Spokane Valley—and gave us a chance to remember just how much fun can happen when you trust your dance partner, trust the vocabulary, and simply dance.

Northwest Pagan Fest
September 19, 2026

📍Spokane, WA

Project HipSlingers has danced at Northwest Pagan Fest since the festival's very first year, and it has become one of our favorite local traditions.

Each year, we intentionally request the longest performance slot available—not just to give ourselves more time to dance, but so we can invite other local troupes and dancers to join us and share the space.

It's an opportunity to celebrate the wonderfully eclectic dance community we're lucky to be part of while sharing FCBD® Style and Tamarind Tribal with our Spokane community.

Serenade of the Stars

September 19–20, 2026
📍Portland, OR

From one stage to the next! After performing at Northwest Pagan Fest in Spokane, we headed straight to the airport to spend the rest of the weekend dancing in Portland, Oregon.

We started our Portland adventure by joining dancers around the world for the ATS® Global Flash Mob 2026, capturing our contribution while dancing on a bridge at sunset.

On Sunday, we joined DeAnna Freeman for her Constellations workshop, exploring formations and dueling duets before bringing those ideas to life in an intimate evening performance as part of a larger weekend featuring Zoe Jakes.

It was a whirlwind weekend filled with learning, performing, collaboration, and a little dancing wherever we could find a beautiful place to do it.

Hayden Days

July 25, 2026
📍 McIntire Family Park • Hayden, Idaho

One of our favorite parts of summer is dancing at community events, and Hayden Days was no exception. We were honored to perform alongside Athena Arts during this year's celebration and spend the afternoon sharing our love of FCBD® Style and Tamarind Tribal with the Hayden community.

Yep Kanum Celebration

July 19, 2026
📍 Yep Kanum Park • Colville, WA

The Yep Kanum Celebration is an annual community festival in Colville, Washington, bringing together neighbors and visitors for a weekend of live music, local food, artisan vendors, family activities, and community celebration.

Project HipSlingers was honored to be invited by Tribe Zenith to join them for a special collaborative performance during the 2026 festival. Opportunities like these are one of our favorite parts of dancing—they allow us to build friendships across the regional dance community while introducing new audiences to FCBD® Style and Tamarind Tribal.

A heartfelt thank you to Tribe Zenith for the invitation and warm hospitality. We loved sharing the stage, connecting with dancers from another community, and being part of such a welcoming celebration in beautiful Colville. And the handmade signs were AMAZING!!!
